It will be a fun evening on the water, enjoying the last of summer's fading heat, but more, it's a chance to make a difference by supporting an organization that sees past just surviving HIV / AIDS, to actively working toward eradication of the virus.
According to the White House, 36 million people world wide are now estimated to be infected with HIV. Put this in perspective: At the height of the Black Death in Europe no more than 20 million were afflicted. The difference between then and now is treatment. Yet while a million people now start taking life saving HIV medicine each year, more than twice that number are newly infected and a large percentage don't know.
Your tickets and any additional contributions will go to our vital work of helping us combat the scourge of AIDS until it is gone from the planet. Unlike like other HIV AIDS groups, this organization was founded by Peter Schick, who was infected himself while working as a physician. He knows first hand what has to be done to meet the greatest medical challenge of our generation.
Join us then for a luxurious Hornblower Yacht night of cocktails, dinner, dancing and your favorite casino games, Saturday September 20, 2008 in Marina del Rey. Tickets are only $150 each. We'll be honored by your presence, and are grateful for your support.
